Public Schools:

Sauk Rapids-Rice District $47
The Rice Elementary School (320-393-2177) is located in the city of Rice. Schooling is for kindergarten through grade five. The student population is approximately 495. The elementary school is proud of a student to teacher ratio of 22 to 1. There are 35 certified staff members and 30 support personnel in the school.

The Sauk Rapids-Rice Middle School (320-654-9073) is located in the town of Sauk Rapids approximately 15 minutes south of the city of Rice. The new middle school was constructed om 1995. The students travel to this school by school district provided buses.

The student population is approximately 780 for grades six through eight. There are 65 certified staff members and 20 support personnel in the school.

The Sauk Rapids-Rice High School (320-253-4700) is located in the town of Sauk Rapids approximately 15 minutes south of the city of Rice. The students travel to this school by school district provided buses.

The student population is approximately 900 for grades nine through twelve. There are 64 certified staff members and 29 support staff personnel in the school.

Parochial Schools

Sacred Heart Catholic School (320-251-2854)
The purpose of Sacred Heart School is to provide a Catholic education for children in grades kindergarten through six.

The student population is approximately 300. There are 15 certified staff members and 10 support personnel in the school. The teacher to student ratio is 21 to 1.

The school offers a wide range of activities for third, fourth, fifth and sixth grade students ranging from music, orchestra, band and the Parochial Athletic Association.

The school is located approximately 15 minutes south of the city of Rice and busing is offered.

Trinity Lutheran School - "Missouri Synod" (320-251-1477)
The purpose of Trinity Lutheran School is to develop Gospel-motivated, well-rounded and well educated people for today's church and world.

The student population is approximately 130. Pre-school (ages 3-4) and kindergarten through eighth grade are served at this school. There are 10 certified staff members and 6 support personnel in the school. The teacher to student ratio for kindergarten through grade 8 is 16 to 1.

The school offers a wide range of extracurricular activities for the grade school students including basketball, baseball, soccer, track, band and more.

The school is well known for its excellent pre-school program.

The school is located approximately 15 minutes south of the city of Rice with busing offered.

Petra Lutheran School - "Wisconsin Synod" (320-252-0120)
The purpose of Petra Lutheran School is to provide a Christian education for children in grades kindergarten through eighth grade. They recently began a pre-school program.

The student population is approximately 25. Staff includes 2 graduates from Dr. Martin Lutheran College in New Ulm and 4 support personnel. The teacher to student ration is 12.5 to 1.

The school offers various sports in connection with other small schools.

The school is located approximately 15 minutes south of the city of Rice with busing offered.

Community Education:

A broad community education program further complements education opportunities and the Sauk Rapids - Rice public schools. A successful Early Childhood Family Education program is available for parents and their children from birth through pre-kindergaren years. A variety of education, enrichment and recreational programs and activities are available to all ages. Opportunities include aerobics, swimming, crafts, computers, adult classes, adult basic education and recreational.
